The mission and core values of Carthage Contracting, Inc., as an entity, are to serve the design team's concept, not to only be concerned with revenue.  With that mission comes the absolute allegiance to the designer, whom we choose to serve as an ally, not an antagonist.  The construction marketplace has lost its proper mission as a whole.  General Contractors, in a very broad sense, have stopped caring as much about the implementation of the design, and have begun mainly worrying about maximizing revenue.  It is because of this shift that a rift between architects and builders has developed.  A mutual lack of trust and respect exists between the two, and only ends up hurting the owner of the project.  This is the primary explanation of why Carthage Contracting, Inc. was formed.  Our doctrine as builders is to adopt the designer's concept as our own, and build a project acting as the designer's implement of choice.

Carthage Contracting, Inc. uses a conservative approach to general contracting.  We are dedicated to achieving profitability through effective financial management, stability and efficiency of infrastructure, and proficiency of technical abilities.  Stable and efficient infrastructure relies mainly upon keeping a close accounting of quality and quantity of personnel.  The strategy here is to employ highly productive staff members, but with an emphasis on maximizing efficiency.  Low employee turnover projects stability to both clients and employees, so retaining highly productive staff members is crucial.  Utilizing the most up-to-date information through various reporting firms and industry associations regarding construction projects available for bid is tantamount to predict overall construction trends, price fluctuations due to national market movements, and projections of local/ regional competitive patterns.
